Olfactory dysfunction (i.e. the loss of the sense of smell) is increasingly recognized as a significant health concern. Research suggests a strong association between a declining sense of smell and various health issues, including increased mortality, systemic inflammation, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Multi-modal Biomarkers
Imaging, Cerebrospinal fluid, and blood biomarkers provide diagnostic means to detect Alzheimer’s and related dementia. However, they are utilized after symptoms appear and can be costly and/or invasive. Cognition and olfactory assessments provide a cost effective and non-invasive means to detect impairment comparable to imaging. In addition to the olfactory screen, Aromha utilize a multi-modal approach including imaging and blood biomarkers to obtain a higher fidelity signal.
